Research into lesbian foster care & adoption

I am a student at the University of Leicester School of Social Work and am researching the experiences of lesbians in becoming/attempting to become adoptive parents or foster carers. I would be really grateful if any members of your organisation would be able to offer any help. I am particularly interested in conducting informal interviews either individually or in a group. Anyone that would be willing to assist with my research can be assured of their confidentiality and anonymity. If you or any of the members of the project could help I would be extremely grateful. I look forward to hearing from you by email or by telephone (0116 221 500).

Ben Marsh.

Are you a gay man who has a child or children?

Whether through a straight relationship, donor insemination, adoption or fostering?

Would you be prepared to share your experiences of being a 'gay dad'?

I am conducting an ESRC-funded PhD research project, based at the University of Manchester, examining:

* How gay men behave as parents
* What factors affect gay fathers' parenting
* How gay fathers handle their 'differentness'

'Out' or 'in', single or in a relationship, and no matter how you became a father, I need you to participate!

All participants will need to fill in a questionnaire and may be asked to do a further in-depth interview.

All information you provide will be anonymised and strictly confidential.
